I bought this right after I read the 3 weeks to shredded, because I really felt like I must be missing something. I thought, 'oh, it's in the other book'. Nope, not here either. He gives many more testimonials, a food list, some recipes, tells you to eat real food (I appreciate all of those things), but there are no instructions to what you are supposed to do. I honestly kept scrolling back and forth because I felt like there must have been several chapters missing. At one point he says that 'you now have all of the information' and I literally LOL'd. Clearly he has tons of knowledge and happy clients and customers but I have no idea of what to do, except eat the breakfast bowl. I guess I can start there...Product details

Simple, straight forward, and effective!!! I am down 24lbs in 10 weeks (my wife has lost 21) and we are still going strong. Is some if this common sense? Yes. Is it still worth reading? Absolutely!! The recipes are great, (the cookbook is awesome too), the workouts are easy to understand and implement, and the motivation rocks. Thanks Mike for a program that finally works long term for my family. It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle. Boom!!
The more diet/health books I read, the more I realize the answer is out there. Cut out sugar (and all the things that turn to sugar. This means you white bread and pasta!). eat lean protein,lots of veg and some fruit. Whole grains good and get moving.
The book was a good read to remind do fall this stuff. I really enjoyed another book by the same author which is dolce diet for college students. Good for anyone packing lunches or looking for snacks. That's the hard part, eating when not at home.
Nothing new here. Shop around the outside of the grocery store and eat as clean as possible. Simple, right?
Mike has some great recipes that are now staples in my everyday diet. The breakfast bowl is quick, easy, and delicious. The pasta sauce is great although I modify it a little. I like to sauté then put my onions and peppers in the blender. I also use petite diced tomatoes and put half the tomatoes in the blender to make a smoother sauce. Most of the ingredients in his recipes are easy to find at Walmart. I did have to order chia seeds from .
I feel great on this diet and recommend this book to everyone!
Overall a good read but I really wished there was more information on nutrition and less of how he's changed peoples live. Don't get me wrong there nice to read but would have been nice to learn more about dieting and the nutrients we find in our food. The sample grocery list is very basic and I thought there would be more recipes to go by or at least point us in the right direction. However there is a lot of great points and there is useful information to be found I just wish there was more of it. If your looking to lose weight and have no knowledge of how to get started here is a great starting point but if your more then a novice it has you wishing there was more.
I was a little disappointed in the book as I'm a big fan of Mike. It's a very basic book. If you are looking for in depth information on his philosophy, meal plans, and specific guidance you won't find it. The book is geared more toward the novice. If you're nutritional or athletic background is non existent, then the book may be worth a read. If you're familiar with working out and have a decent understanding of nutrition then skip the book and just get his cookbook which is full of recipes. If you want a specific plan to losing weight, then get the three weeks to getting shredded book and follow up with the cookbook. This book served little purpose in my opinion. The best thing I got out of it was the shopping list.
I found this book after reading My Fight / Your Fight. She talks about the Dolce diet and its impact while preparing her fights and hectic schedule.
I read the book while in airports and I can tell you is completely worth it. What I love about Mike Dolce is that he has done it all, so he knows how the body works and how you can stimulate it. That being said, I can tell you this is a book written by a man who has tried every single approach to make lean gains, improve your body and life style overall. That credibility and most importantly, Dolce's simple -yet down to earth-approach is perfect for a busy person.
The book is filled with awesome and healthy recipes and at the end, really good advice for short but high impact workouts.
What else do you need? Not to much chit chat, but the real deal. And that is exactly what Dolce brings to the table.
I bought this book well over two years ago now and it has forever changed my life. I had always been a health conscious person who worked out and avoided most all processed food and junk. However, I will admit I indulged just as many of us do but I was constantly looking to be a little bit better with my health and fine tune anything I could and BAM! I finally buy the book and my eyes are peeled wide open!! Mike and Brandy may be two of the most humble people on Earth and they truly want nothing more than to help educate and change the world when it comes to health and fitness. It is very evident they want to make a difference on this Earth and the proof is in the pudding. Literally, try the Chia power pudding.
Or any other recipe, they're great. I recommend this book to everyone ALL the time and if I had enough cash I would hand them out like candy on Halloween!
